Objections
Oh, you’ve been blogging for years, and never experienced the results you wanted?
It happens. Lots of content writers and bloggers focus on frequency. Frequency matters, but, more importantly, it is the words that earn you a better rank. Were you using your unique words? Did you put them in the correct order? Where they added to the favored locations? Did your blog posts do a thorough exploration of topics or were you just posting stuff related to your business?
Many feel like the search engines randomly assign page rank (the location of their listing in the search results pages). In fact, web pages earn page rank. And, since you are in charge of what is going on the page (i.e. the content), you have the power to influence the page rank of all of your pages.
Maybe you are a non-techie, and feel that SEO is beyond your skill set? If you can create list of words that describe who you are and what you do, and, then follow the steps in this simple process, you have the skill set. And…after completing the lessons in the course, you’ll have your own, custom process in your printed worksheets.
Can’t afford it – I need to create a payment plan – haven’t done that and not sure I will have it before this page goes live. What business are you not getting because you can’t be found? Have you been measuring the business that comes from your website? Have you figured out the number of engagements you need to recover your $997.00 investment?

My Story
I started a website design and development business in 1997. I’ve been operating as a sole proprietor in that capacity since; working solo and with trusted partners throughout the years.
In the early days, it was true: “If you build it, they will come.” It was easy for my clients to get found.
As the web matured and more and more businesses in the same segment came online, it became more challenging for my clients (as well as every other business) to get found over the competition.
In my brain, there needed to be greater goal than providing a website presence for my clients. I was thinking, “what’s the sense in having a website that no one knows about?” So, I set my intention to learn how I could facilitate their websites “getting found” over the competition.
I attended all the presentations, workshops, and, seminars that were available. I attended the largest internet marketing and SEO conference, PUBCON in Las Vegas year over year. I followed Matt Cutts and attended all of his and other Google staffers’ presentations that I could.
Some weeks, on a Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday night, a handful of colleagues and I would drive 2 hours to Trumbull, Connecticut to hear presentations by Google employees and other SEO sages, then on our 2-hour ride back to Marlborough, MA. discuss what we had heard…Yeah, we were a little fanatical.
Since then, I’ve:

- Been adding SEO to clients’ websites as I develop new websites for them
- Been contracted to add SEO to other developers’ clients’ websites
- Taught clients how to add SEO to their own websites
- Given public workshops on How to add SEO to your WordPress website
- Consulted about the effectiveness of businesses’ organic SEO and AdWords campaigns.
- Helped clients build their organic traffic so that they could lower their AdWords fees.
- Worked on monthly retainers managing businesses’ online presence—researching topics, composing content, and publishing blog posts, as well as maintaining their social media presence; inviting, engaging, and responding with their target audience, just like I would if I were an employee.
- Written a Kindle book, “SEO for WordPress Power Bloggers”
I believe that websites should be working for you so you can put your attention where it is needed; working on your business or spending quality time with your family.
I’ve become a fierce advocate for online do-it-yourselfers.
I want to give you the tools to ensure that your content is working for you when you are otherwise occupied.
Sherrill’s Success Story
Sherrill was a personal injury attorney practicing in Marlborough, MA. We met many times at Chamber networking events and both of us served on one of the Chambers’ Board together.
She had been working with an online marketing agency for a couple years. She felt that they had accomplished some very nice tactical things, like setting up phone call tracking for her 800 number and a “casting” dashboard where she could check the activity on her blog posts.
Sherrill was squeezed for time, so, she had the agency write her blogs posts, but, they relied on her to supply that topic.
Over time, Sherrill became disappointed with the results. The result she wanted was more business coming to her from her website. Upon taking a closer look, she felt that the blog posts were generic, applied to any personal injury attorney, and did not speak to her specialties nor distinguish her from the competition.
She invited me to lunch one day, told me about her dissatisfaction, and, wanted my opinion as to whether the agency was taking advantage of her. I couldn’t speak to that, but, I assured her that the process does work, but, it takes focused effort.
A couple of months later, Sherrill hired me—with very strict parameters —until she could regain trust in the process, she said.
Our Agreement
We agreed that I would spend a maximum of eight hours per month on her blog and social media. I would produce one blog post per month, determine the topic based on what was trending in the personal injury industry, do all the research, but, not post it until she approved it (for legal reasons). In addition, I would act as an employee of hers engaging on 4 social media platforms, socializing her posts as well as commenting, liking, and sharing posts and comments of others. I would keep a log of all my actions, check the statistics, and, compose a typed report at the end of each month, then meet with her in person the first week of the next month.
Below is a 3/4 inch stack of reports that cover three months of engagement statistics, gains, fails, and recommendations.

I worked in this capacity for Sherrill for 18 months, until one day, she abruptly canceled our agreement.
Turns out that, over the weekend, she and her husband decided to retire and move away within the next 24 months.
The SEO work I had been doing for Sherrill was bringing in steady business. Her challenge was that it takes many months to years to settle personal injury cases, so, she had to start cutting back with accepting new cases as soon as possible. That meant she did not want more inquiries. I stopped adding blog posts and socializing as her employee that very week.
About 18 months later, Sherrill called and told me that she was still getting inquiries based on the SEO work I had done. She had a high rank in the search engines, her Google profile (now called Google My Business) was front and center when searches were looking for the keywords we had branded for her, etc. She wanted me to make those go away.
Six months later, Sherrill retired. Two years into retirement, Sherrill sent me an email that she was still getting calls from folks who found her when doing Google searches. We concluded that she should change her phone number 🙂
You can create this desirability for yourself!
The process that I used in Sherrill’s case, is the one that I am sharing in Create a Simple & Sustainable SEO System. I used the same system with a kitchen remodeling firm on Massachusetts’ North Shore, with a limousine and bus transportation company in Central Mass., a personal trainer in MetroWest, a CNC machinery vendor in Marlborough, MA, a law firm in Worcester, MA, a million dollar producing realtor on Massachusetts’ South Shore, and more.
You’ll be reaping the benefits of evolution and fine-tuning of the process throughout the years.
The course consists of 27 bite-sized lessons spread over 7 modules. You’ll learn:
- Non-techie adjustments to make to your content so that you can increase your visibility in the search engines
- How to educate the search engines to associate certain terms with you and your business
- The techniques for getting the search engines to work for you and bring high-probability prospects to your website(s)
- How to manipulate the website content so that you earn maximum SEO value
- The locations where SEO terms can be applied
- The most important location, but most unnoticed, location of all
- How to measure your progress and use the metrics to remain on a continuous uptick in page rank across your website
- Things to avoid in order to reduce the risk of unknowingly self-sabotaging your efforts
How do you know that this system really works?
Go to the blog on my Adventures Online website. On the right, click in “Search This Website”, and paste “blog developer massachusetts” —WITH the quotes— into the search box. You’ll see that from 2011 – 2017 I took snapshots of my progress branding “Adventures Online” with the search term “blog developer massachusetts” .
Now, go to Google and enter the same term in Google’s search box. When the term is searched with quotes, Adventures Online occupies the first two spots. Without quotes, Adventures Online displays farther down, but, still on the first page.

And… I have not tried to brand myself with that term for years (since, most people have had a blog for years). My goal at the time, however, was to make
blog developer masssachusetts = Adventures Online
just like Xerox, Amazon, and Nike equate to certain terms.
As you can see here, I have moved on, and am focusing on spreading my knowledge and delivering online courses that have value for website do-it-yourselfers. Let my re-branding begin!
